The Ghana Police Department has arrested an officer accused of fatally shooting a young woman in Adum, Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
Inspector Ahmed Tumasi was arrested on Sunday after shooting the victim, Victoria Dapaah, believed to be his girlfriend, five times on Thursday 20 April. Victoria Dapaah is said to have left her home after receiving a phone call from the alleged attacker. In an interview a few days later, the victim’s uncle, identified as Maa Adwoa, said the couple had been at odds over allegations of fraud prior to the murder.
