Police officer who shot a woman five times has been arrested.

The Ghana Police Department has arrested an officer accused of fatally shooting a young woman in Adum, Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

Inspector Ahmed Tumasi was arrested on Sunday after shooting the victim, Victoria Dapaah, believed to be his girlfriend, five times on Thursday 20 April. In a statement, police said that “the suspect, who has been on the run since the incident, was arrested in Sekyere, near Efiduase in the Ashanti region following a special police operation, which was conducted following the shooting.

Police officer arrested after shooting 5 women “The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged in court to face justice,” they noted. Inspector Tuumasi was arrested after CCTV footage showing him chatting with the victim shortly before shooting him went viral.

Victoria Dapaah is said to have left her home after receiving a phone call from the alleged attacker. According to the source of Luv News, an argument broke out between the attacker and the victim, after which she was shot five times. In an interview a few days later, the victim’s uncle, identified as Maa Adwoa, said the couple had been at odds over allegations of fraud prior to the murder. CCTV footage shows him kissing the woman before shooting her.
